Belgian Singer Angèle is the Face of Chanel’s Newest Fragrance

Belgian singer-songwriter and actress Angèle has been announced as the face of Chance Eau Splendide, the latest flanker in Chanel’s Chance franchise.

To mark the launch, Chanel is set to release a cinematic short starring Angèle and directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. The film will feature ‘A Little More’, an original song written and performed by the 29-year-old artist.

“With her whirlwind energy, her beautiful serious mind, and her guiding star, Angèle is the ideal lucky charm for this new chapter,” Chanel said in a statement.

One of the leading voices in the French-speaking music scene, Angèle first partnered with Chanel in 2020, when she was named Beauty and Fashion Ambassador for the House.

“Gabrielle Chanel is such an inspiring figure. She contributed to the emancipation of women in a major way,” Angèle said. “I am honoured to be a Chanel muse, even though I sometimes feel not entirely legitimate… I could never have imagined being where I am today in my life, and I have to say that it’s amazing to do this in parallel with my passion, which is music. There is such incredible history behind this House.”

Chance Eau Splendide, the fifth flanker in the Chance collection, was crafted by Olivier Polge, the master perfumer behind Chanel Gabrielle, Dior Pure Poison, and Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb.

“The original idea behind Chance was a state of mind that we interpreted in very different styles,” explained Polge. “Each Chance fragrance is unique, but they all express the same state of mind. There is no common composition, but something along the lines of a feeling and an emotion that each fragrance expresses — something very lively and very direct.”

Described by Chanel as ‘a marvel of paradoxes. Sprightly yet rooted. Sparkling yet rigorous’, Chance Eau Splendide is a fruity-floral composition that opens with a juicy raspberry accord and crisp fruit notes. Its heart blooms with powdery iris and elegant rose geranium, partly harvested from Chanel’s fields in Grasse, while a base of cedarwood and white musk adds warmth, depth, and longevity.

Chance Eau Splendide launches on 15th April 2025 and will be available at Chanel fragrance and beauty boutiques, as well as online at chanel.com. It will be available in two sizes: 50ml for £109 ($143) and 100ml for £149 ($176).
